It seems that back in 2008, a band from Halifax called The Sons of Maxwell were on their way to a set of gigs in Nebraska.  They flew United Airlines out of Halifax through O’Hare where they had to change planes.  While on the ground waiting to deplane, Dave Carroll the lead singer overheard a lady behind him say, “Oh my god, they’re throwing guitars out there!”  Sure enough, he turned just in time to see the bass player’s instrument being tossed.
